Our Vision
Our vision is a world in which all people recognize and obey the indwelling presence of God and live a healthy, happy, peaceful, and prosperous life.
"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away." Rev. 21:1
Our Mission
Our mission is to be a powerful catalyst for change that teaches and promotes the daily practice of spiritual principles which inspire and empower people to live a better life.
"For behold, I create a new heaven and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come to mind."
Isaiah 65:17
What is a New Thought Center?
A New Thought (Metaphysical) Center teaches that life's potential is greater than the outer appearance. We understand our true selves to be more than the physical, but to be that perfect, whole and complete idea of God. OGOT supports the development of UFBL New Thought centers throughout the mid-Atlantic, including The Divinity Center for Better Living in Washington, D.C, The Spiritual Unfold-ment Center in Richmond, VA, and the Path of Life Center for Better Living on the Eastern Shore.
"For there is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end, and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay... the righteous live by their faith."
Habakkuk 1: 3-4b (NRSV)
During the month of June, as we celebrate our power of imagination, we also celebrate the 15th anniversary of One God One Thought Center for Better Living and the 35th anniversary of the Universial Foundation for Better Living.
Fifteen (15) years ago, 15 people shared a common vision. We decided that we would do whatever was required to bring into manifestation a New Thought Christian ministry as inspired by our UFBL founder, The Reverend Dr. Johnnie Colemon.
Using practical spiritual principles, we took the leap of faith and embarked on a spiritual journey. Our biggest discovery has been that this journey has not been about building a ministry or a church. This journey has been about building a collective, community consciousness of likeminded people.
People who are willing to be and do whatever is required to develop and sustain a center where people can come to learn of their own divinity by study, unconditional service and financial generosity. We have explored what it means to be a spiritual being and our commitment to do so continues to serve all of humanity.
Have the most Christ loving, forgiving week of your choice!
